About Me
Jay Bell - CTO & Co-Founder of Trellis.org, Angular GDE, Nx Champion, Open Source contributor and podcaster.
I'm the CTO and Co-Founder of Trellis.org, a social enterprise building fundraising software for nonprofits. I've steered Trellis's technical direction since we started in 2018. Today the platform runs ticketing, check-in, auctions, paddle raises, and donations for hundreds of galas, with more than $150M raised for charities and the communities they serve.
I'm born and raised in Canada and call Kamloops, B.C. home. I've been shipping software for over a decade, and have been chasing entrepreneurial ventures from drones to software and mobile apps on the way to co-founding Trellis.
My favorite stack and tools to build with are:
Community is where I spend a lot of my energy. I'm an Angular Google Developer Expert, an Nx Champion, and an active open-source maintainer and contributor - you'll find me around the same packages and tools I used in my job and hobby projects. I co-host The Angular Plus Show, write the Trellis Engineering Dispatch newsletter, and share what we're learning on the Trellis Tech Blog.
Off the clock, I'm probably building The Animus, a Warhammer 40k companion app that helps players play the Horde game mode for Warhammer 40k, mountain biking, or just coding for fun.
